Roy has worked in financial services since leaving university, initially for two household insurance companies, before becoming an IFA in 1989. Prior to joining BBT, he specialised in advising the clients of solicitor and accountancy practises.

Married to Gill, Roy has a son, daughter, two step-daughters and a grandchild.

To get away from the stresses of the day, he is involved amateur dramatics. Roy says he enjoys “everything from Pantomime where I usually play the Dame’s not too bright sidekick (not much acting skill required) to musicals (the fact I can’t sing a note and have two left feet never seemed to be a problem in getting a part) to Agatha Christie murder mysteries(I’ve died on stage lots of times).”

He is a Sheffield Steelers fan and goes to games whenever possible.
